Volunteer Opportunities

Throughout the course of the year there are numerous opportunities to volunteer with Orange County Schools. Some options for you to become involved include:

Large Service Projects

Our schools appreciate assistance with large projects such as community gardens, nature trails and more.

Adopt-a-Classroom

On a smaller scale, your group can adopt a classroom to provide assistance for a specific class of students.

Support a Student

Individuals can make a big difference in the life of a student by volunteering to be a "Lunch Buddy," a tutor or a mentor.

Seasonal Needs

Several times a year, our schools need volunteers to work with us as proctors for End-of-Grade/Course testing. The time commitment for these needs is usually less than 4 hours. A short training session is provided.

Foreign Language Assistance

If you are proficient in a foreign language, we welcome volunteers to work with our English Language Learning students and their families. We are also grateful for assistance in translation of district and school documents so that we can meet the needs of all families.

Grant Writing

Experienced grant writers are needed for small-scale grant projects.

Donations

Consider donating art supplies o rback-to-school supplies for homeless and disadvantaged students. Classroom teachers occasionally have special material needs that enrich the lives and education of their students but are not covered by district funding. During the school year, we review and post these needs.
